Frequently asked questions

Is the Lady with an Ermine on show at the Czartoryski Museum?

Yes. Leonardo's Lady with an Ermine hangs in the Czartoryski Museum at ul. Pijarska 15 in Kraków, on the second floor of the palace. It returned there when the renovated museum reopened in December 2019.

Do I need to book a time slot?

Yes. Every ticket is for one date and one 10-minute slot, and the museum releases only about eight online places per slot. Near dates often sell out, so book as soon as your plans are fixed.

Why can't I book a Tuesday?

Tuesday is the museum's free day. Entry to the permanent exhibition costs nothing, and a limited number of timed tickets are handed out at the museum desk on the day itself. As there is nothing to buy, we never sell Tuesdays.

Is the museum open on Mondays?

No. The Czartoryski Museum is closed every Monday. It opens Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00, with the last visitors admitted at 17:00.

Who can buy the reduced ticket?

Visitors over 65, pensioners, and disabled visitors with one carer, if they are citizens of the EU, the EEA or Switzerland. Teachers at EU or EEA schools and holders of an ISIC or Euro<26 card also qualify. Bring the card and photo ID.

What happens if I can't show proof for a reduced ticket?

The museum does not honour a reduced ticket shown without the document that entitles you to it, and it does not refund it. If you are unsure whether you qualify, ask us before you book.

Are there cheaper tickets for young people?

Yes. Pupils and students under 26 with a school or student ID can get a token-price ticket from the museum itself, including at its ticket desk. We do not sell that ticket, so it is not on our ledger.

Do children need a ticket?

Children under 7 go free. Tell us their ages when you book and we add their free tickets to your booking at no charge.

Who does the family ticket cover?

Up to four people on one ticket, including at least one child under 16. Everyone enters together in the same 10-minute slot.

Does my ticket include other museums?

The adult, reduced and family tickets also admit you, within three months of your date, to eight more National Museum sites, including the Matejko, Mehoffer and Wyspiański museums, plus the Arms and Colour exhibition at the Arsenał.

Can I take photographs of the Lady with an Ermine?

The museum allows photography for personal use without flash or a tripod, unless an object carries its own ban. Follow the signs in each room on the day.

Can I bring a backpack?

Only a small one. Bags larger than 40 × 20 × 25 cm, umbrellas and coats must go to the cloakroom or lockers, which are free.

Is there an audio guide in English?

Yes. Audio guides are rented at the museum in Polish, English, French, German, Italian, Ukrainian, Russian and Spanish, with sign-language, audio-description and family tracks. There is also a National Museum app for Android and iOS.

Is the museum accessible for wheelchair users?

Yes. Every level is adapted for visitors with reduced mobility, with lifts, wide corridors and accessible toilets on the ground floor. There is also a sensory path, audio description and a quiet zone.

Can I change the date of my ticket?

No. The museum does not exchange tickets for another date or slot, so please check your plans before you book.

Who can use the ticket?

The ticket is a bearer ticket: the museum admits the first person who presents it. Keep the e-ticket to yourself until you are at the door.

Who are you?

Czartoryski Museum Ticket Concierge is an independent booking service. We are not the museum. You pay us for the admission ticket plus our service, and we book your timed entry with the museum and email you the e-ticket.
